I’ve spent the last 4 months as a private educator for siblings in 3rd and 5th grade who are competitive skiers. I moved in with the family and taught the kids when they were not at practice or competitions. I spent the ski season in Lake Tahoe, and then went to Hawaii for Spring Break with the family! After spring break, we moved back to their San Francisco home, where I’ve spent the month of May. The kids returned to their private school which allowed me to explore during the day before I assisted with homework and tutoring in the evening. I had the opportunity to explore the city of San Francisco and all that it has to offer!
Moving to Tahoe and then San Francisco was an adventure. It wasn’t always easy but I’m proud of myself! I moved across the country without knowing anyone or anything about these new locations. I made a few friends and so many memories along the way. I’ve gained more confidence exploring alone and figuring out things without any help.
My contract recently ended and I’m back in Texas for the time being! People have asked “what are your plans now?”. Like past summers, I will spend most of my time traveling around the country along with a few international trips. I’m excited to have a summer full of trips with family and friends!
As for my next career move, things are still in the works. I know with certainty that I will not be returning to the classroom just yet. My travel bug has not been fulfilled completely, so I’d like to travel a little bit more. I love that I’m in a field of work that will always be there when I’m ready to return and a field that has a need all over the world. I’m currently waiting for things to fall into place but have prayed that God would reveal to me His will for this chapter of my life. Wherever He calls, I will follow and glorify Him along the way.
Hopefully soon I’ll be able to share more about my next season of life, but until then, you’ll find me exPLORIN’ Costa Rica, Chicago, Nashville, Mexico, Honduras, and Minnesota, just to name a few! It will be a very busy summer, but I can’t wait to see what new memories will be made!
