Unfortunately, I don't have much to update you on! March has been a pretty busy but fun month. Nothing too exciting has happened in the last month so this update is pretty surface level.

Although it seems like I never work, March was my busiest month yet! One of the English teachers resigned at the end of February with very little notice which affected my teaching schedule. I was teaching all Nursery classes 4 times a week and all Kindergarten1 classes only once a week. When the teacher left, I took over all four Kindergarten1 classes and continued teaching only 1 nursery class. I was nervous about changing my schedule because I had just gotten into a routine with all the nursery students but I absolutely LOVE teaching K1. They are learning the letters of the alphabet, letters, and some English phrases/vocabulary. They are so fun and precious. It has been a great transition even though my schedule is a little more busy with more classes.

Typically, March 31st would have been the end of the semester but because of the Covid outbreak in my town, we have to extend the semester until April 31st. We already had graduation for the Kindergarten3 students at the end of March which was so much fun to watch! All the other students had to do a performance and it was so fun watching the other students perform.

Here are a few highlights from March:

We attended a cooking class with other teachers from our program and we had an absolute blast! We cooked all four courses in our own wok and chopped up all the ingredients that we used to cook

- Visited a few new temples in a surrounding town.

-Saw the movie Raya in theatres

We finally got to feed and bathe elephants on a weekend getaway about 3 hours northeast of us.

-Drank one too many coffees from new coffee shops around town

- Attended a Thailand soccer game, Chaing Mai vs. Nakhon Pathom

-Tried some interesting foods, like corn ice cream, duck beak, frog

We hiked through Erawan Falls National Park and were able to swim in the waterfalls.

I'm thankful for my amazing family and friends in America that continuously check in and are invested in my journey here. I'm also so humbled to receive packages/letters from family members back home because they bring me so much joy and allow me to feel a little sense of home.

God has been so, so good to me. Thailand has been absolutely incredible and I'm thankful for all the ups/downs I have experienced since being here. Most days are good, but there have been some challenging days too. God has provided me a great school, amazing friends, and I've continued to stay healthy even with the street food. I can't wait to see what else Thailand has in store for me!
