After over 30 hours of traveling, I made it Bangkok! The journey was definitely long and had a few bumps in the road, but overall it wasn't awful.

The first flight was 15 hours and I flew from Dallas to Qatar where I had a 9 hour layover. Thankfully, my parents graciously paid for us to visit the lounge where we could get food, drinks, and most importantly, take a shower.

About 3 hours into the flight from Dallas, I got up to use the bathroom and started feeling sick. I desperately tried to get to the bathroom but it was occupied. So right there in the middle of the aisle, I got very sick. Yup, all over myself, clothes, shoes, and floor, along with a mask AND shield that the airline requires you to wear. Thankfully, I didn't get it on anyone but it was a bit mortifying. Thankfully, the flight attendant was so incredibly nice and even brought me pajamas to replace my clothes. I will say, the slippers were the best part of the flight! I felt so much better the rest of the flight.

After I got freshened up and changed clothes, it was time for our last flight to Bangkok! This was flight was significantly shorter at 6 hours.

Once we arrived to Bangkok, the chaos began. Upon arrival, you are required to show an abundance of documentation due to the boarders being closed. Each person had a chair that they sat in and waited for the next available customs employee. After showing documentation to multiple people, I was shuffled through an abundance of lines where I ended up on a shuttle to my ASQ (quarantine hotel).

Once I arrived at the hotel, I was quickly given a nose and throat COVID-19 test. My luggage was sprayed down with disinfectant and I had to answer a few questions regarding my health. Once I completed all the paperwork/testing, I was sent to my room. The room is a decent size and comes with the bare minimum- mini fridge, shower, wifi, desk. Overall, it's not a bad place to spend 15 days.

So far, I have made it to day 3 of quarantine. It hasn't been too terrible yet. I will write another blog later this week with more details about the food, safety precautions, and what I've been doing to keep myself occupied.
