This blog was intended to allow others to follow my adventures around the world. Those who know me, know that traveling is my passion. I can't wait to have you check out my adventures as I travel the world.
But first, here's a few things about me:
1. I really don't like to fly.
Before every flight, I get in my head and let fear take over. Of course, turbulence plays a huge factor in these thoughts. Shorter flights aren't too bad but long flights over the ocean are really not enjoyable for me. The thought of being trapped inside something where I have no control is a little scary. However, you cannot allow the fear of flying limit you from all there is to see in the world.
2. I'm not an adventurous eater.
I have been a picky eater my entire life. It drives my family crazy. I'm a picky eater when I'm home but I become even more picky when I travel to a foreign country. Not knowing where some of the food comes from, especially meat, makes it a struggle for me to enjoy a meal in another country. I do however, at least attempt to try a local favorite no matter what it is. I try to remind myself that I most likely won't have another opportunity to try some of the food.
3.I want to visit all 7 continents.
My biggest life goal is to make it to all 7 continents before I die. I have traveled to 4 of the 7 continents- Australia, Europe, North and South America. I predict that Asia will be the next continent to mark off my list.
4. I involve my students in my adventures.
One of my favorite things to do while I travel in the summer is to send postcards to my students. Many of the students that I teach, will never have the opportunity to visit the places I visit. I love to send students a postcard and include a little history of my location. I will share some information about the language, tourist attractions, and things I eat. This exposes the kids to a new culture and help them learn about other places in the world.
5. I'm preparing an adventure of a lifetime.
Life is short. Say yes to adventure! A new adventure is currently in the works and I couldn't be more excited. Change is scary but it always leads to memories that last a lifetime. I'm always up to create new memories and experience new things. I can't wait to publicly share the next adventure I will be embarking on.
You never know where life will take you. Be open minded and always be ready for adventure.
Don't let the fear of the unknown stop you from living your best life.
